The black anodized 6061 T-6 aluminum handle's patented machined in "Presidio"-style, bi-directional tread pattern give this knife a distinctive, customized look, while it's generous size provides plenty to grip on to, even with gloved hands.
The factory sharpened blade of this exceptional tool, a single-edged drop point, is made of super-durable D2 tool steel and is fully capable of shaving the hair right off your arm. In addition, it features Benchmade's "BK1" coating, a matte black coating that provides excellent corrosion protection, which exceeds the ASTM-117 spec for saltwater while possessing higher scratch resistance.
This OTF automatic knife has a violently strong spring that absolutely rockets the blade into place where it locks up with so little blade play, you will hardly believe it! This is thanks to Benchmade's unique three-point retention system.
"Just how is the blade activated?", you might ask.
The answer is, "With a forward push of the ridged, ambidextrous thumb slide." The blade is retracted with a reverse slide of the release.
