Overview
The Ultratech OTF automatic knife is Microtech’s original dual action out the front knife, and has been the foundation of their entire line of OTF switchblades. The design of the Ultratech has been modified many times over the years, and with each modification it has become even more efficient and reliable.
One of the key features of the Ultratech is a spring that is in an “at rest” position at all times, until the switch is activated and the blade is deployed. When a spring remains compressed, it can become fatigued. By keeping the spring in an uncompressed state, it assures that this automatic knife will operate effectively every time it is fired.
The Ultratech switchblade also features a slim and lightweight machined 6061-T6 aircraft aluminum alloy handle which has been hard coat anodized to Military Specifications (MIL SPEC).
The front opening blade of the Ultratech automatic knife is made of strong, corrosion resistant S30-V stainless steel and is "scalpel sharp"!
